English Language Programmes

NorthTec’s highly skilled and qualified English language tutors make learning English fun and easy. They will increase your confidence levels and help you achieve internationally recognised qualifications.

Come to NorthTec | Te Pūkenga to study english as a foundation course before continuing your New Zealand study journey at NorthTec or at a Northland high school.

International students 16 years old or older, can enrol at NorthTec to study for a New Zealand Certificate in English Language (NCEL). Each course is full-time for 19 weeks and there are intakes throughout the year.

This programme is designed to improve your academic language skills and fluency in english. It is a way to meet the english language requirements for gaining entry to higher qualifications (Eg. NZQA courses level 4 and above).

Teaching is done face-to-face by an experienced and qualified ESOL tutor in a classroom setting on our campus. We provide many opportunities to interect with and learn from your classmates.

ESOL Classes at High School
