The Old Packhouse Market in Kerikeri

Three of our student ambassadors from Springbank School in Kerikeri recently visited the Old Packhouse Market on a Saturday morning to interview Judy the owner and a few of the stallholders.

 

Meet Camille from Switzerland, Malindi (a Kerikeri local) and Luis from Germany. Each student picked their favourite Northland produce from the market, found out about the story behind it and most importantly, did a taste test. The market is open Saturdays and Sundays from 8am and the Old Packhouse Market Cafe is now open 7 days a week, just outside Kerikeri CBD.

If you’re from Europe and missing European style bread, Flour Power Bakery at the Old Packhouse Market in Kerikeri is the place to go. Camille, one of our student ambassadors from Springbank School talked to Peter, the owner, originally from Germany, about what makes his bread special.

The Old Packhouse Market Butchery

Brian at The Old Packhouse Market in Kerikeri has a delicious range of gluten free, preservative free sausages and meat, all made on-site. Luis tasted some of the produce and bought some of the local Northland cheeses to try at home.
