Featured Programmes

Nursing

Registered nurses are on Immigration New Zealand’s skills shortage list. International student nursing graduates make up a large proportion of our nursing workforce and make an important contribution to the industry.

The Bachelor of Nursing degree level programme at NorthTec | Te Pukenga has an excellent reputation with lower course fees than large cities, a less stressful learning environment and ESOL teachers available for free to help with assignments. Graduates are in demand by the local hospitals and healthcare businesses.

“I work in the Surgical ward of Whangārei Hospital as a registered nurse. What I love most about being a nurse is the feeling of being able to help another human being in their time of need and meeting diverse types of people in terms of ethnicities as well as careers. Being able to enjoy what you do, increases your job satisfaction.”Irene, NorthTec | Te Pukenga, International Nursing Graduate

2022 Update: From 15 December 2022, registered nurses and midwives will move from the Work to Residence immigration tier to the Straight to Residence Green List tier. This change will include those who are already residing in New Zealand. More info…

Cooking Student - Peter

Tutors are all supportive and friendly. It’s a really good course.  I have learned many new techniques.  The best is cooking seafood and trying wild game. I get great cookery experience working at a local restaurant while I am studying.“ – Peter, NorthTec | Te Pukenga International Cooking Student
